Shellings from the Peanut Gallery

There are times when one can no longer remain confined.
It matters not that one agrees or disagrees.
It matters only that the shell that binds be cracked and thrown off.

A Town Meeting on Economic Insecurity:
Employment and Survival in Urban America

Guess WHO was one of the panelists at this meeting sponsored by the University of Chicago Democratic Socialists of America Youth Section, Chicago Democratic Socialists of America?

ACORN Political Action Committee Endorses Obama

From his own mouth on his own website:
When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November, he reminded them of his history with ACORN and his beginnings in Illinois as a Project Vote organizer, a nonprofit focused on voter rights and education. Senator Obama said,
"I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That's what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That's the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”

Inside Obama’s Acorn by Stanley Kurtz
Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America.
This is a story we’ve largely missed. While Obama’s Acorn connection has not gone entirely unreported, its depth, extent, and significance have been poorly understood. Typically, media background pieces note that, on behalf of Acorn, Obama and a team of Chicago attorneys won a 1995 suit forcing the state of Illinois to implement the federal “motor-voter” bill. In fact, Obama’s Acorn connection is far more extensive.

What Mr. Kurtz fails to reveal in this piece is another lawsuit Obama, along with a team of attorneys, sued and won another case on behalf of ACORN. This time it was against Citibank and ?????

In reading this article we learned about:
ACORN's Anti-Capitalism Agenda --
Acorn’s radical agenda sometimes shifts toward “undisguised authoritarian socialism.” Fully aware of its living-wage campaign’s tendency to drive businesses out of cities, Acorn hopes to force companies that want to move to obtain “exit visas.” “How much longer before Acorn calls for exit visas for wealthy or middle-class individuals before they can leave a city?

ACORN's "In Your Face" tactics:
Hmmmm, where have we heard those words before? Oh yeah...
I want you to argue with them and get in their face."
Obama, September 17, 2008

ACORN's “Non-Partisan” Facade and the highly taunted “Project VOTE” organizing in 1992 by Obama in direct partnership with ACORN.

Foundation Money -- and how sitting on the boards of the Joyce Foundation and and the Wood's Fund emabled him to direct "tens of millions of dollars in grants” to various liberal organizations, including Chicago Acorn.

Radical Obama ... the larger point is that Obama’s ties to Acorn — arguably the most politically radical large-scale activist group in the country — are wide, deep, and longstanding.

Overall, the article is a brief, but enlightening, overview of the radical Obama.

Barack Obama sought the New Party’s endorsement knowing it was a radical left organization

Onward to the Socialist Utopia
The New Party was designed as a loose confederation of unions, socialists, communists, and black activists who shared common values, but often had different goals. According to John Nichols, its party platform included:
full employment
a shorter work week
a guaranteed minimum income for all adults and a universal “social wage”
full public financing of elections with universal voter registration
“the democratization of banking and financial systems”, which included public control and regulation of banking
a more progressive tax system
reductions in military spending and an end to unilateral military interventions.
[Looks to me like they are well on their way to accomplishing their goals]

Conclusion
Barack Obama has a long-term and sustained relationship with the Chicago DSA, an affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America, and with the Chicago New Party. He participated in multiple membership meetings and in DSA-sponsored events, repeatedly sought their endorsement….. [Might want to read the entire article]
