It matters only that the shell that binds be cracked and thrown off.

Clinton would seek to try 9/11 plotters in established courts

What a disgusting turn of events in which I find myself saying, "Why are you blaming Hillary?" At the very least, give a balanced assessment on the 3 crowned princes.

Let us not forget, McCain has called for the closing of Guantanamo Bay and bringing the terrorists to prisons in the USA. Nevermind the legal rights that would be given to the enemy would be the same rights of any US citizen. How does this make him better than Hillary?

USA Today

You Tube Video

From a March 19, 2007 article:
But Sen McCain has also consistently criticised the handling of the war by the Bush administration, and has led efforts in the Senate to end torture and extrajudicial treatment of terror suspects.

- Sen McCain outlined a series of measures to roll back Bush policies and counter the "ugly American" image.

"I would immediately close Guantanamo Bay, move all the prisoners to Fort Leavenworth (an army base in Kansas) and truly expedite the judicial proceedings in their cases," he said.

Climbing Out of the Doldrums

Not being a fan of Mitt Romney to begin with, his campaign "susupension" of February 8th, had little affect on me. However, his campaign "withdrawal" and endorsement of McCain had a more pronounced reaction.

As I have said previously, I have been disenfranchised this election. Millions of Americans have been disenfranchised, but no one seems to be bothered by it. Nor does anyone appear to be inclined to DO something about it.

The constant refrains ringing through the air are disturbing, to say the least.
To say; "we have no choice" or "our only choice is mccain or a rat" and my favorite - "the people voted" and gave us mccain.

Is this the way the founders of our country and the framers of the constitution intended for us to survive? Unless I misunderstand, the power of the government is granted by the people, not the other way around.

After only seven states had an opportunity to cast a vote or register their preference, as was the case in Wyoming, mccain was declared the front runner. Never mind the fact he had only "won" 3 of those 7 states with 37, 33 and 36% respectively and came in second in one contest with 29%. Meanwhile, Romney had also won 3 of those 7 states with 57, 38 and 51% and came in second in three states with 25, 31 and 31%. Oh hell, let's add the last of the states before "super Tuesday" and do the math. Romney won Maine with 52% of the vote, followed by mccain with 21% and Paul with 18%.

McCain had garnered a measly 25% of the vote from only 7 states when he was declared the so-called front runner. This was simply greasing the wheels for the mind-numbed idiots to vote for him a few days later giving him the nomination.

DISENFRANCHISED!

Everywhere I turn voices are being raised declaring the primary election season is over for republicans. Everyone from Mitt Romney to Ann Coulter to John McCain to every media outlet to the talk radio hosts to “important” republican endorsers the promulgation is being heard loud and clear. The republican primary season is over, done, finished, a fait accompli.

And the republican presidential nominee is…
John McCain.

There is only one problem with this scenario --
I have not yet voted. Nor have millions of other U.S. citizens.
We have been effectively disenfranchised.

Disenfranchised: adjective;
deprived of the rights of citizenship especially the right to vote

Instead of an uprising with howls of being eliminated, I hear nothing but pleas to support the nominee for the sole rationalization that he is not a democrat. Well, I’m here to tell you that argument could be debated with great veracity and won.

We have a serious problem with the system when a very large percentage of the country has yet to be heard from while the process is deemed to be over.

Thus far we have heard from:
Tuesday 1 January - Monday 14 January 2008
WV Presidential Convention Delegates Selected
Thursday 3 January 2008 *Iowa Caucus
Saturday 5 January 2008 *WY Cty Conventions
Tuesday 8 January 2008 N Hampshire Primary

*Missouri Primary
*Montana Caucus
*North Dakota Caucus
*New Jersey Primary
*New York Primary
*Oklahoma Primary
*Tennessee Primary
*Utah Primary
*West Virginia State Presidential Convention

__This is where the line has been drawn__

There are four months left in the original primary schedule where states would have been choosing and/or voting for their choice of the republican nominee. They might as well save their time and money as there is no longer a CHOICE, but simply capitulation.

To the voters in the following states I ask; WHERE IS YOUR OUTRAGE?
You have been disenfranchised!

Those who had not voted when primary selection claimed over:
Tuesday 5 February - Saturday 9 February 2008 *Alaska District Conventions
Saturday 9 February 2008
*Kansas Caucuses
*Louisiana Primary
*Washington Precinct Caucuses
Tuesday 12 February 2008

Check it out here!
Look to see exactly who has had a vote.

Click on the states for actual voting record.

Many of the primarys have been open, meaning anyone can vote for any candidate from either party. Other states have only party delegates selecting the candidate. My state does not allow for party affiliation registration, so I have no idea how one becomes a delegate or how to contact them. When I called my county party, I was told they did not get involved with the primaries. Huh?

For the love of your country and our way of life …..

FRED Thompson Endorses John McCain

The actual title of the article was:
McCain refines plan for general election

That is funny, because the REAL news, buried within the article with little to no fanfare was this little gem:

One conservative on board is Thompson, who said late Friday he was endorsing his former rival.

"This is no longer about past preferences or differences. It is about what is best for our country and for me that means that Republican should close ranks behind John McCain," Thompson said in a statement.

I hate to say I told you so, but.....

The circus continues and the American people are being robbed of an election and they haven't realized it...yet. (sigh)

Another One Bites the Dust

Mitt Romney withdrew from the race for the presidency today...ostensibly for the "good of the country and the good of the party" in a time of war.

What is good about removing choices from the American people?
Why is it good that candidates are being removed before most citizens have an opportunity to vote?
What makes an uncontested race for the presidency a free and fair election?
And why is that good for America?

Good for the party? Okay. The party is now dead. With their recent actions and the gestapo forcing withdrawals from the presidential race, I suppose it is good for the party.

When Duncan Hunter was still in the race the war or military service was rarely mentioned. Wish I had paid attention to how many times those two things have been brought up since he was effectively removed.

What we are witnessing is the downfall of the United States of America.
This in no way resembles a free and fair election.
No way is this a government by the people, for the people and of the people.

The entire process has turned into a theatrical production...a dog and pony show...a circus...a bad dream. The American people should be rising up demanding freedom. Instead they are begging folks like me to vote for the most vile candidate I have seen in my lifetime.

Will I vote for McCain? The answer is not just NO! -- but HELL NO!

VOTE? - WHY?

On July 30, 2007 I began this blog post. (Unfortunately, I was unable to complete it at that time.)

I am sick of hearing opinions, under the guise of facts, from all the "realists" and media talking heads regarding our presidential candidates! There are over 15 months separating us from today and the election. And yet, the talking heads continuously pedal their opinions as facts and assure us we need not trouble ourselves with silly things like primaries or caucai. Yes, these mental giants, these gurus of our day, have determined who the candidates will be in November 2008.

There is no need to gather information on those vying for the highest position in the land in an attempt to make an informed, responsible decision. Surely we all have better things to do with our time than knock on doors, gather signatures, write letters and contribute money to the candidate WE believe is the best person for the job. Why bother with all those trivial and demeaning tasks when our overlords have done the work for us. All that is required of us is to go to the polls and vote.

-- Today I will complete the post, beginning with the last two questions I had entered for further research prior to temporarily abandoning this post.

Who decides who is electable?
The definitions are as follows:
–adjective
capable of, or having a reasonable chance of, being elected, as to public office.
Fit or able to be elected, especially to public office: an electable candidate.
--Related forms: noun, electability
What makes one capable of, or fit to be elected?
What is the criteria on which a judgment can be based?
Are there standards employed in the decision making?

The Constitution requires the presidential candidate:
--- to be a natural born American citizen
--- having obtained the age of 35 years

I have heard folks say one must “look” presidential. Whatever that means.
Seriously, what DOES that mean?
--- No long hair, no tattoos, no tongue or nose piercing?
--- No jeans and t-shirt while addressing the nation?
--- Must have hair, but it mustn’t be too well coiffed lest he be teased?
Some of these items are valid points, in as much as the POTUS will represent the USA around the world in high-level meetings.

Another familiar claim; the candidate must have prior executive experience.
--- Preferably they should have been the governor of a state.
--- Or they must have been CEO/CFO of a huge corporation
--- Starting a small company and guiding it to a very large company.
Not sure this one carries as much weight in the criteria department. The president, much like a governor or big businessman, surrounds himself with the best people in their field. They do not make policy decisions alone.

Many argue a senator or congressman simply can’t get elected, or rarely do.
--- The argument has not changed in regard to a congressman.
--- It has shifted greatly for this election, with many senators running.
The fact is, some congressmen serve on or head committees that manage gigantic budgets. While this may not qualify as executive experience, in the eyes of some, it is a damn sight more than ANY senator has ever done. All those loud mouths do is talk and suppress the rights of their subjects…us.

Some clamor about name recognition and notoriety.
--- This is the most ludicrous remonstration I have heard.
--- Name recognition is a created phenomenon.
Both these can be here today and gone tomorrow at the whim of a few.
Examples -- had anyone ever heard of B. Hussein Obama prior to 2004?
How many really recognized his name before he entered the 2008 race?

Then comes the all important “communication skills” meme.
--- Speaking skills are in the ears of the beholder.
--- One man’s eloquent speech is another man’s mumbo jumbo.
Many complain about President Bush and his alleged lack of communication skills. I always hear and understand what President Bush says, while I never understood the nuanced eloquence of J. Effin sKerry.
Dr. Alan Keyes is a most eloquent speaker and a statesman. Try asking the moron on the street what he has said.

We often hear the candidate must possess charisma and leadership skills.
--- While this may be true, we need to examine the direction of both.
Hitler had tremendous charisma, as did Jim Jones. Marx, Stalin and Lenin had great leadership skills. We need to look beyond the actual skill and closely scrutinize exactly where these leadership skills will lead us and if the charisma being employed is negative charisma or being used for good.

Now let us look at WHO is determining the “electability” factor:
1. It goes without saying that the media, the enemy within…aka the enemedia, are the major players in this exercise.
--- I include print, broadcast media and radio talkers in this category.
--- As well as the pundits and the web sites from both sides of the political isle, the alternative media, if you will.
2. The party leaders have been playing a big role here as well.
3. Previously trusted watchdog organizations typically persuade many in their decision making. Millions look to certain groups and/or individuals for guidance in choosing a candidate to support.

When all these mentioned above are pimping those who you can see with a simple cursory glance are not what they are being touted as being, we have a colossal breakdown in the system.

Allow me to present proof of these allegations beginning with #3:
"In making its endorsement, National Right to Life considered the position of candidates on the life issues, their records on the life issues and their ability to win."

The NRTL endorsed Fred Thompson. Fred’s track record on their own website show’s him with an average of 65.3% during three sessions of congress. If you divide that by six years, he has a 10.9% per year pro-life rating
There were viable candidates with a 100% pro-life voting record -- 100% every single year they were in congress. Those folks were not endorsed.
Does NRTL continue to have any credibility? Not with me they don’t!

Here is another example of a once good organization prostituting itself, straight from their e-mail transmission:
"Look at our NumbersUSA home page for our description of how Thompson has the best immigration promises and plan of all the candidates polling above 5%.
Both Thompson and Romney have promised to make illegal aliens go home."

(Please note that neither one did a damn thing to make that happen when they actually held an office, regardless of the short time they both did so.)

Continuing the missive…..
"But McCain's pro-amnesty plans received their greatest exposure this week when Gov. Huckabee signed NumbersUSA's "no-amnesty pledge" in front of a busload of national news media at North Greenville University in South Carolina."

And THERE you have it folks! Empty campaign rhetoric, aka LIES in a more sane time, combined with non-binding signatures on some groups pledge, but doing so in front of the “sacred enmedia” now demands support from the ignorant masses.

Oh, lest we forget…ONLY those “polling above 5%” in the proven fraudulent, incomplete polling data qualify for their ratings. It is difficult to garner 1%, let alone 5% when one is NOT INCLUDED IN THE POLLING DATA!
NumbersUSA…credible no more! Delende est!

The Christian Family Coalition failed to include two candidates who were still in the race at the time of their printed “values voter” guide. Funny thing is, the two that were left off were more about wholesome values than those they included. CFC not ranking high on the credible scale at this point.

Moving on to #2 and the party leaders…
When you have a party “leader” making this statement, you know all is lost!
"Electability is becoming a very important issue in this nomination contest and John McCain is the strongest candidate we could nominate to defeat the Democrat nomnee in November,"
said RNC Vice Chairman Chuck Yob.

Of course that inane statement is child’s play considering what the recent former General Chairman of the Republican Party had to say on national TV January 29, 2008 after the Floriday primary:
"I’ll do all I can to ensure a democra...aa republican wins in November
-- Senator Mel Martinez

With party “leaders” like this, I say send in the “followers”

I found the following comments about electability quite enlightening:
“Electability”... the battle-cry of the unprincipled coward.
(poster on FreeRepublic.com)

To quote JD Hayworth from his endorsement of Duncan Hunter:
“To base a primary vote on “electability” instead of ideas and principles seems to me a reduction of your rights via rationalization. “

For your reading pleasure -- couple of great quotes:
"Compromise makes a good umbrella, but a poor roof; it is temporary expedient, often wise in party politics, almost sure to be unwise in statesmanship."
- James Russell Lowell

"It is the weak man who urges compromise - never the strong man."
- Elbert Hubbard

To those who are willing to compromise their values, their honor, their integrity, their core beliefs, their faith and indeed their souls in search of the preeminent “electable” candidate I can only say…best of luck in your dishonorable quest. I will be no party to it.

I have not had the opportunity to cast a vote yet, nor have nearly half of the voting population, but the fix is in, arranged by the enemedia and our complicit vaunted party leaders. I will need to pray and think long and hard on how I will vote…if I bother to excercise my right as a U.S. citizen. None of those chosen by the party heads, the enemedia or the powers that be represent anything I stand for.

My apologies to Congressman Duncan Hunter, but at this point, sadly, I must disagree with his assessment when he said:
"We are still a people of character and strength and kindness.
And so with faith in God, with confidence in the goodness of the American people….."

It is difficult to have faith in the American people today.

This piece was completed on January 17, 2008 which was to be widely distributed throughout the Christian community. As we all know, Duncan Hunter "ended" his campaign on January 19th, before the piece could be sent out. After sitting in a near catatonic state for the past 15 days, I have decided to post the piece for informational value if nothing else.

ATTENTION ALL CHRISTIANS
YOU have a choice in the 2008 Presidential election!

Thanks to the bias of the media, there is little doubt that few know of the deep faith and Christian principles that guide Congressman Duncan Hunter, the California Republican campaigning for the highest office in the land and leader of the free world.

Duncan Hunter is a Christian and a man of strong Faith:
Congressman Hunter does not simply talk the talk we have been hearing so much about lately, he actually walks the walk. When GodVoter.org. invited each of the presidential candidates to fill out a prepared questionnaire, Duncan Hunter was one of the only candidates to respond. He was awarded the only A they gave and won their endorsement. ( http://www.godvoter.org/questions.html )

From his answers to the questions, watching and listening to this humble man speak, I have learned much about this patriot I pray will be the next President of the United States.

Duncan Hunter became a Christian when he was 16 years old. He believes his dependence is knowing the Lord and walking with him daily. Being in politics and living in Washington, DC has it’s challenges and Hunter strives to honor the Lord in all that he does as a leader. He says his leadership skills of patience and humility are derived from the Holy Spirit. When asked if he had to choose between God and country, which he would choose, his response was profound in its simplicity;
"By choosing the Lord, I honor my country."

At the November 28, 2007 CNN-You Tube debate, a question was asked of all the candidates. Congressman Hunter wrote a letter to the questioner. (highlights)
As you know…I myself was not given an opportunity. [to answer]
Allow me to respond directly to your question now. “Do you believe in every word of this book?” meaning the Bible. Hunter’s answer, Yes, by faith. --
After quoting John 3:16, Hunter goes on…If you believe in this promise, which so obviously is not scientifically provable, then is there any other event in the Bible that God’s hand cannot accomplish? --

When I am asked by those who pride themselves on the reliance on provable scientific facts regarding the validity of the scriptures, I answer with one such set of facts. There are an infinite number of atoms on the head of a pin, each of which are circled by electrons. Who placed those electrons there? I hope their attempt to answer this question helps them to understand my three-word answer to your original question.
Do I believe every word of the Bible?
Yes, by faith.

http://blog.barofintegrity.us/2007/12/06/duncan-hunter-answer-the-bible-question--re-cnnyoutube-debate.aspx

Duncan Hunter does not forget what is important, even though he is on the campaign trail while continuing to do his job in congress.
Hunter first stopped at the Greenwood County Courthouse for a "Call to Prayer" for U.S. troops at home and overseas --
“But the primary reason we're here is to pray and support the troops.
What's going to give us freedom is faith."
http://www.gohunter08.com/shownews.asp?artid=190

Duncan Hunter is Pro-Life:
Mr. Hunter has authored, sponsored or cosponsored pro-life and pro-family legislation every year for more than ten years. Typically, he introduces his Life at Conception Act on or near the anniversary of the abominable Roe v. Wade decision. He appears and speaks at the March for Life and has a 100% pro-life voting record with the National Right to Life Committee, Family Research Council and the Christian Coalition.
The Right to Life Act specifically acknowledges the personhood of the unborn as supported by the U.S. Constitution.

"Our greatest obligation as elected leaders is to protect the American people, especially those who are incapable of protecting themselves," said Congressman Hunter. Our children, whether born or unborn, deserve the opportunity to grow and live in a society that values and respects life.

"On this anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision, it is important that we reflect on the 38 million abortions that have been performed in this country since the practice was legalized in 1973. This is a national tragedy that must not go unnoticed.

"This legislation ensures that the unborn are protected from abortion and further provided the same Constitutional protections provided to all Americans. I am proud to once again introduce this important piece of legislation and I hope my colleagues will join me in support of this effort as they have in the previous Congress."
http://www.house.gov/list/speech/ca52_hunter/Right_Life_Release.shtml

Duncan Hunter’s Life at Conception Act, if passed, would define life as beginning at conception. If that happened, the Preamble, 5th, and the 14th amendments would apply to protecting the lives of the unborn. An admission made by the court in their Roe v. Wade ruling when Justice Blackmun wrote; If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant’s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the Amendment.

Q: What will you do to restore legal protection to the unborn?
A: Well, the first thing I would do is pass the Hunter bill which states that life does begin at conception. You know, the second thing is simply this, and I've said this in every speech that I've made in this run for the presidency. If a judicial candidate can look at a sonogram of an unborn child and not see a valuable human life, I will not appoint that judicial candidate to the federal bench. It's as simple as that.
Source: 2007 GOP Values Voter Presidential Debate Sep 17, 2007

Duncan Hunter is Pro-Family and Traditional Values:
Rated 100% by the Christian Coalition: a pro-family voting record. (Dec 2003)

Hunter: “I strongly believe Congress needs to remain actively involved in ensuring parents' rights are protected and I have significant concerns with recent judicial rulings recognizing "de-facto" or "psychological" parents, individuals who assist in raising a child. These types of decisions undermine parental authority, allowing any adult with an association with the child to make parental claims.”

Supports The Families Reinforcement Act:Child support enforcement, tax incentives for adoption, strengthening rights of parents in their children’s education, stronger child pornography laws, and an elderly dependent care tax credit to reinforce the central role of families in American society.

When asked if he would support a federal marriage amendment, Mr. Hunter replied:
“It's so important that we have that law that accommodates the Judeo-Christian traditions that maintains what is probably the most important institution in this country, which is a family. The most important institution that we have. The confidence that marriage gives our children, that moms and dads give our children, can't be duplicated by government. We need a constitutional amendment to maintain their marriage.”

Core Principles can be found at www.gohunter08.com:
Regarding sexual orientation as a protected class under federal civil rights laws and hate crimes: I have always voted against this type of legislation because I firmly believe that the use of violence against any innocent person is wrong, regardless of that individual's race, religion, nationality or sexual orientation. Despite the intentions of these bills, I sincerely doubt that increased federal involvement in these state issues would have any significant effect on these crimes. If crimes are prioritized based on the victims' status, we threaten the very tenet of equal protection under the law that is the foundation of our legal system. Instead, all violations of the law should be dealt with in a manner that delivers justice on behalf of the victims and their families. I support strict punishment for heinous crimes, like murder, regardless of the social circumstances. The idea espoused in so called "hate crime" legislation that some murders are less serious than others rebukes common sense.

Taking into consideration that approximately 2 million children are taught at home, [home schooled] it is important that we make every effort to ensure these students have the same access and opportunities to federal benefits, such as financial aid, as those who attend public school.

Voted NO on allowing Courts to decide on "God" in Pledge of Allegiance.

Hunter sponsored a resolution for a School Prayer Amendment:
H.J.RES.52 (2001), H.J.RES.66 (1999), S.J.RES. 1, H.J.RES.12, H. J. RES. 108, & H. J. RES. 55:
Nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to prohibit individual or group prayer in public schools or other public institutions. No person shall be required by the United States or by any State to participate in prayer . Neither the United States nor any State shall compose the words of any prayer to be said in public schools.

H. J. RES. 78 (1997):
To secure the people's right to acknowledge God according to the dictates of conscience: Neither the United States nor any State shall establish any official religion, but the people's right to pray and to recognize their religious beliefs, heritage, or traditions on public property, including schools, shall not be infringed. Neither the United States nor any State shall require any person to join in prayer or other religious activity, prescribe school prayers, discriminate against religion, or deny equal access to a benefit on account of religion.

Duncan Hunter support the Constitution Restoration Act that prevents federal courts from hearing lawsuits brought to stop public officials from acknowledging God in such ways as the Pledge of Allegiance, public display of the Ten Commandments and public prayer.

Congressman Hunter believes; “Our work is to make sure that we elevate the American family and make a life of opportunity for that next generation of Americans.”

Duncan Hunter is a standout worthy of serious consideration by conservative voters, …because one has to spend only a minute with him to know what achievement he counts above all others -- his 33 years of marriage to his wife, Lynne, and the two sons and four grandchildren that are the product of that marriage.
Duncan is a family man above all. http://patriotpost.us/alexander/edition.asp?id=530

My apologies for the length of this missive, but it is hard to stop gushing when one finds a candidate such as Duncan Hunter. I did not feel I could do him justice by saying he is a Christian, Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-Traditional Values and All-American Patriot!

We do not have to settle for less in 2008
Duncan Hunter is the Complete Conservative Christian!

The Bible says; My people parish for lack of knowledge…
We are living in perilous times. Be informed and exercise your right to vote.

To quote JD Hayworth in his recent endorsement of Duncan Hunter:
To base a primary vote on “electability” instead of ideas and principles seems to me a reduction of your rights via rationalization.
We are still in the early primary season. Duncan Hunter needs our help and our votes even if you must write-in his name!

A true American Patriot, Hunter proclaims:

"America is a great nation because America is a good nation.
God still loves this nation. We are still a people of character and strength and kindness.
And so with faith in God,
with confidence in the goodness of the American people,
let's win this race for the United States presidency."

Bush Against Romney

This alleged article "By Robert D. Novak" posted at Townhall.com on Saturday, February 2, 2008 is simply amazing.

The depths to which "news" reporting has sunk is a stunning thing to realize. This man, Robert Novak, writes:

-- While President George W. Bush has maintained neutrality among contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, he privately expresses to friends his exasperation with Mitt Romney's hard-line stance on immigration.

Privately? Friends? Which friends would those be, Bob? Where are the quote marks, Bob? He allegedly said this privately where and to whom? A mediocre reporter would divulge date, time and/or location of these alleged expressions of exasperation along with the infamous "anonymous sources" nonsense.

Bush is upset that Romney changed his position on the issue, compared to what it had been when he was governor of Massachusetts, at the expense of the president's immigration reform. Bush and Sen. John McCain are not close, but the president is grateful for McCain's support on Iraq and immigration.

You are a disgusting little man, Bob Novak. You know nothing and are clearly no one, so you pull an article out of the dark recesses of your addled mind and call it the gospel. Pathetic!
